After studying a famous person and writing a biography on them, the class drew portraits and wrote speeches telling about the facts they learned. We then used those pictures in an app called ChatterPix and brought our portraits to life! Check them out here!

D.A.S.H.
The second grade had an awesome time learning all about vision impairment and blindness. We have done so many activities that have helped us get a true sense of what it must be like to be blind. From walking blindfolded with a cane to using a Braille typewriter and stylus, the hands on experiences are ones that we will not forget. A big thank you to the parents who helped run the program and to all of the parent volunteers who came in to assist!
Famous People Paper Dolls
Recently the children created a paper doll of the famous person that they studied. They came out beautifully and we can't wait for you to see them at Open House!

What's the moral of this story?
Second graders have been working hard on the genre of Fables and Folktales. We have read many different stories and learned all about the particular features of these types of stories. After completing a book report on a favorite fable or folk tale, we put together a slide show of the children sharing the moral of their particular story. We hope you enjoy it!
Please leave us a comment telling us which fable is your favorite!
